taking the nike exp-x14 sneakers to 4 different alter egos

Calling all hypebaes and sneakerheads! Your statement sneakers are worthy of a spotlight of their own. Dressing up a bold-hued sneaker shouldn’t just limited to neutral hues, blacks, whites nor greys. Honoring the strong flouro-tones of the new Nike EXP-X14 shoes, take note of editor Haida Yusof’s take on amplifying the neon-lit trend against the silhouette and futuristic accents of the sneakers:

Look 1: Strike a balance

Take the accents of color seen on the sneakers and apply on your dressing. Seen here, I applied the method of concept-dressing by taking the cue of the strong hues of the shoe: neon green lacing, bright yellow and flouro-orange with a digital-printed top bearing similar hues. To let the shoe stand out even more, I balanced the look with a distressed white denim jacket. Cool factor secured with layered silver accessories and stretched-out shin-high socks bearing the super-cool ‘swoosh’ logo.

Look 2 : Lime Crime

Neutrals are boring, so take a huge bite of color in your ensemble to go along with the sneakers. Highlight with rainbow accessories (in this case, I pair with my rainbow canvas belt and the streaks on my Dior Rasta saddle bag) and a plain white cropped-top for that street-savvy sensibility.

Look 3: Print Heavy

Even with a load of prints, the get-up wont even overshadow your look. Pick the new neutrals (metallics, in my opinion) and juxtapose them with printed pieces for maximum impact. A dose of cool tones down the volume when paired with edgy accessories.

Look 4: Girly, but make it Boy

This is boyish dressing with a tailspin on playful girly notes on street-dressing. why stick to boring ‘ol denim when you can opt for something a wee bit extra? For instance, this option of an ostrich feather-trimmed lining that frames the shoes like you never thought it would. Street-style sensibilities don’t just limit itself to masculine accents.
